Have your ever wished you could own your own magnificent aquarium, filled with diverse and beautiful fish, corals, and sparkling salty water? Have you imagined the great joy you could get out of seeing your coral reef aquarium everyday, or showing your mini piece of paradise off to visitors? Well, it is possible. You can have your own small coral reef sitting in a tank, showcasing the corals as well as some fish.
A coral reef aquarium is very similar to that of a regular aquarium. It is held in a tank, and acts as a small "demonstration" or "representation" if you will of what is actually out there in the oceans. However, instead of having the main focus on fish, it is instead of other forms of underwater life such as corals.
If you are installing a coral reef tank however, you must take good care. Temperature and salt levels must be constantly within only a small range, as anywhere outside of this range will place a stress on the corals. Therefore, be prepared to undertake regular maintenance and have a dedicated spot for the coral reef tank where it will always be in the presence of a certain temperature range.
Coral reef tanks will require life such as smaller fish and algae to keep the ecosystem in balance. Presentation is also key, so at the same time remember not to overcrowd or overpopulate the tank.
