Coral Reef Fish

Coral Reef Fish

When it comes to the animal life present in coral reefs, there really is a lot of different and beautiful fish in the sea. Small and large, thin and thick, multicoloured and single coloured, the range of fish present in coral reefs are extremely diverse. If you have ever seen some video footage of underwater in a coral reef than you will definitely know that there really are many different fish that reside in the coral reef biome.

Home to interesting fish such as the clown fish, an orange fish with plenty of stripes (like Nemo), to fish such as the angelfish, butterflyfish, surgeonfish, and even the spotfin hogfish, coral reefs certainly do not lack and colour, populated by streams of golden colours and coral as well. There are literally thousands upon thousands of different species of fish that live in coral reefs all over the world, especially in the southern hemisphere such as in the Great Barrier Reef. However, many of these fish, as well as many other living organisms, are coming under threat and enduring stress, causing them to become in danger.

Dynamite fishing and coral bleaching are the two main causes of stress to the coral reef biome, which need to be stopped.

Other animals that live in the coral reef biome are whales, dolphins, dugongs, turtles, sea snakes, lobsters and more.
